Introduction to SME Technology in Agriculture

Origin

Preventing Johne’s Disease in dairy: An example of the relevance of ElectroMagnetic Field treatments for animal health.

“The characteristics of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP), the causative agent of Johne’s Disease, and the absence of a cure or an effective vaccine against Johne’s Disease ask for constant monitoring of livestock and drastic herd management measures to restrict transmission within and between herds.” (Barkema et al., 2014).

Experimental evidence using the technology called SMET (‘Stimulated Magnetic Energy Technology’), developed by the late Prof. Noordenbos and the late Mr Theo Bijkerk, makes it plausible that MAP bacteria can be negatively affected by weak Read more

Practice

Leen de Vink, the only distributor of the SMET device, and a dairy farmer himself, has already sold around 160 devices, mostly in the Netherlands and some in Denmark, Poland and the USA. One of these so-called SMET-boxes costs around 1000 euro, which in the Netherlands is the equivalent of the price of one cow.

By 2015, approximately 150 Dutch dairy farmers have been using this device to reduce the prevalence of Johne’s Disease. The SMET-box emits a combination of weak frequencies (one being around 25 Hz) for one minute at hourly intervals (www.smetparatbc.nl). Farmers using a SMET-box report a Read more

Evidence

Due to a lack of research on SMET, the explanation for its mechanism remains speculative. But the results at over 150 farms suggest positive effects.

The American Royal Raymond Rife is considered the founder of frequency therapy. He discovered that specific frequencies are able to immobilise viruses and bacteria. He exposed a virus or bacteria to frequencies generated by an electromagnetic field and discovered that as soon as the frequencies of the EM field resonated with those specific to the bacteria and viruses (i.e. their ‘resonant frequency’), the microbes became weaker or even collapsed.

To date, only one study has been Read more
